FIBER REINFORCED RUBBER MEMBER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber reinforced rubber member, capable of securing the reinforcement by a fiber and the required flexibility and easy to manufacture even when there is a long and curved part, and to provide a method of manufacturing the fiber reinforced rubber member.SOLUTION: A reinforced cord layer is embedded in two directions, where a plurality of single strand cords cross each other to make an angle with an extruded direction while being turned back at both-side end parts in a continuously-extruded plate like unvulcanized or semi-vulcanized rubber substrate, and thereafter, shape molding is performed if need arises to be subjected to vulcanization, for example, can vulcanization. As a result, a plate like fiber reinforced rubber member, which has the embedded reinforced cord layer, or a flexible joint, which is provided with an expansion and contraction part such as a curved part by performing the shape molding before vulcanization, or the like can be easily manufactured and the strength and flexibility thereof can be secured by the bias reinforcement of the reinforced cord layer.
