PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engineering device for implementing shift and change works by shortening time required for the shift and change and avoiding design errors.SOLUTION: The engineering device is connected, via a network, with a control system which includes an input device for inputting a signal from a control object, an output device for outputting a signal to the control object, and a programmable controller for storing at least one program, and includes a database having a hierarchical structure in which a plurality of tables are associated with each other by means of a common ID on the basis of a structure of the control system, and a design change supporting unit having a shift/change screen for generating a screen to be provided on the basis of user operation, and changing data stored in the database DB on the basis of the user operation. The design change supporting unit changes the common ID on the basis of a hardware position of the shifting object and a shift destination designated by the user, and changes the hierarchical structure of the database DB so that the shifting object may be shifted to another hardware position.
