Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive toggle type mold clamping device not needing a transmission mechanism such as a pulley or a belt capable of miniaturizing the whole device not having problems of noise or durability, and preventing the deterioration of performance caused by heat.SOLUTION: In a toggle type mold clamping device (3), a motor (16) for clamping is provided in about a center of a housing (7). A ball screw (14) driving a toggle mechanism (11), and a rotor (17) of the motor (16) for clamping are integrally fixed. The motor (16) for clamping is configured as a reluctance motor in which the rotor (17) comprises an iron core. A ball nut (13) screwed to the ball screw (14) is fixed to a crosshead (12) driving the toggle mechanism (11).
