IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of appropriately processing a high-definition image.SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises: an imaging sensor 12 that picks up an image; and a plurality of main processors 21, 31, 41, 51 that respectively encode division images obtained by spatially dividing the image picked up by the image sensor 12. Encoded files obtained by encoding the division images are respectively recorded in a plurality of memory cards 24, 34, 44, 54 corresponding to the main processors 21, 31, 41, 51. A first processor 21 creates the encoded file so that a thumbnail image of the image is contained in the encoded file.
