PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a constitution and a structure capable of preventing the occurrence of moire due to not only a shape but also a diffraction phenomenon.SOLUTION: There is provided a display device which comprises: a transmission type display panel 10 having pixels 12 arranged in a first direction and a second direction; a surface lighting device 20 for irradiating the transmission type display panel 10 from the back; and a parallax barrier 130 which is disposed between the transmission type display panel 10 and the surface lighting device 20 and separates an image displayed on the transmission type display panel 10 into a plurality of viewpoint images, wherein the parallax barrier 130 is constituted so that a plurality of light transmitting parts 131 and light shielding parts 132 extending along an axial line parallel or forming an acute angle with a second direction are alternately disposed parallel to a first direction and satisfies the expression, 0.95×ND≤W≤1.05×ND or 1.9×ND≤W≤2.1×ND, when the width of the light transmitting parts 131 along the first direction is defined as Wand the arrangement pitch of the pixel 12 along the first direction is defined as ND.
