PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide additional information for systematically and comprehensively expressing variation conceivable in a stereoscopic image form.SOLUTION: A left eye image subsampling part 101 generates a subsampling left eye image 11 according to a subsampling direction control signal 106 indicating which of a horizontal direction, a vertical direction and an oblique direction is a direction on a spatial plane for performing subsampling and a left eye image subsampling phase control signal 107 indicating whether or not to subsample a pixel at a prescribed position of a left eye image 10. A right eye image subsampling part 102 generates a subsampling right eye image 21 according to the subsampling direction control signal 106 and a right eye image subsampling phase control signal 108 indicating whether or not to subsample the pixel at the prescribed position of a right eye image 20, similarly to the left eye image subsampling part 101.
