Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium manganese composite oxide which has high discharge capacity per volume when used as a positive electrode material and is excellent in cycle characteristics when used at a high temperature.SOLUTION: A spinel type lithium manganese composite oxide denoted as Li(x+y)Mn(2-y-p-q)MpMqO(4-a) is obtained by sintering a precursor. The spinel type lithium manganese composite oxide is characterized in that a peak appears within a range of 370°C to 470°C in a DSC curve obtained by performing differential scanning calory measurement on the precursor and the area of that peak is 30 mJ/mg or more.
