Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device which can prevent a workpiece from being damaged due to the bite-in of a clamping claw of a gripper of a hole clamp into an opening of a clamp hole.SOLUTION: The clamping device expands a diameter of the gripper 14 of each clamp 11 to clamp a workpiece 9 only when a clamping operation is determined to be possible with respect to each hole clamp 3, thereby reliably preventing a workpiece from being damaged (edge chipping) due to the bite-in of the clamping claw 17 of the gripper 14 of the hole clamp 3 into the opening of the clamp hole 10.
