Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for synthesizing terephthalic acid.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for synthesizing terephthalic acid comprising a step of converting phenylalanine to phenylacetamide, a step of converting phenylacetamide to phenylacetic acid, a step of converting phenylacetic acid to toluene, a step of converting toluene to p-toluic acid and a step of converting p-toluic acid to terephthalic acid. Also, there is provided a method for synthesizing terephthalic acid comprising a step of converting phenylalanine to trans-cinnamic acid, a step of converting trans-cinnamic acid to benzoic acid, and a step of converting benzoic acid to terephthalic acid. Further, there is provided a method for producing terephthalic acid comprising a step of converting phenylpyruvic acid to mandelic acid, a step of converting mandelic acid to benzoic acid and a step of converting benzoic acid to terephthalic acid.
