Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing slag and enabling recovery and recycling of valuable components such as Cr from the slag, by performing a smelting reduction treatment of the slag containing 4% or more of Cr oxide in terms of mass concentration of CO.SOLUTION: By using a smelting reduction furnace holding molten steel, the slag having a composition, by mass, 25-45% CaO, 20-35% SiO, 5-15% MgO, 2-15% AlO, 4-15% Cr oxide calculated in terms of mass concentration of COand 1-15% NaO is reacted with either one or both of Si and C contained in the molten steel, thereby performing the smelting reduction treatment.
