Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transporting device capable of favorably transporting sheets regardless of types of sheets, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the same.SOLUTION: A sheet transporting device transports a sheet while holding the sheet with at least one of a plurality of transporting roller units. The sheet transporting device includes a first transporting roller unit which has a pair of rollers allowing pressure bonding and release, a second transporting roller unit which has a pair of rollers allowing neither pressure bonding nor release and transports the feed sheet to the first transporting roller unit, a sheet transporting path which is formed by being bent at the first transporting roller unit as a boundary, and a controlling unit which controls rotary drive of the first transporting roller unit and the second transporting roller unit according to the types of sheets to be transported.
