LOCKING MECHANISM FOR FRONT HOOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a full open state of a front hood due to wind pressure by creating the half-opened state of the front hood when all the bolts are broken, or the like, and a latch unit comes off from a vehicle body frame during travelling, by being used under severe conditions not intended by a designer.SOLUTION: A base 26 of a latch unit 24 for creating a totally closed state (A) of a front hood 10 is fastened to a front end upper bar 12 and a hood lock stay 14 by a plurality of bolts B1. When each one of a plurality of the bolts B1 is broken and the front hood 10 is uplifted together with the latch unit 24 by the wind pressure applied by travelling at high speed, an attachment piece 50 for creating the half-opened state (C) of the front hood 10 opened wider than a totally closed state (A) of the front hood 10 is arranged over the base 26 of the latch unit 24 and the hood lock stay 14.
