SHIELDED ELECTRICAL CABLE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielded electrical cable that is mass-terminated and has high speed electrical properties.SOLUTION: A shielded electrical cable 2 includes: conductor sets 4 each having one or more substantially parallel longitudinal insulated conductors 6; two generally parallel shielding films 8 disposed around the conductor sets 4; and a conformable adhesive layer 10 disposed between the shielding films 8 and bonding the shielding films 8 to each other on both sides of the conductor sets 4. The shielded electrical cable 2 may further include at least one ground conductor 12. A method of making the shielded electrical cable 2 includes: providing the conductor sets 4 each including one or more substantially parallel longitudinal insulated conductors 6; forming two generally parallel shielding films 8 around the conductor sets 4; and bonding the shielding films 8 to each other on both sides of the conductor sets 4.
