Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a retainer to be easily fastened by caulking to a groove arranged on a rotor shaft to fix a rotor core to the rotor shaft.SOLUTION: A retainer 5 that is a component fixing a rotor core 1 in an axial direction of a rotor shaft 4 comprises: an annular portion 51 which contacts with an outer periphery of the rotor shaft 4; a contact portion 52 which extends from one end portion of the annual portion 51 to a radial direction, and fixes the rotor core 1 in the axial direction; and a neck portion 53 which is disposed in the annual portion 51 and is constricted in an inner diameter direction. A method of fixing a rotor core fastened by caulking to a groove 41 arranged on the rotor shaft 4 in an inner diameter direction comprises the steps of: contacting the contact portion 52 of the retainer 5 with an end plate 3 disposed on an end of the rotor core 1; and fastening the neck portion 53 of the retainer 5 by caulking to the groove 41 of the rotor shaft 4 by pushing the annual portion 51 in the side of the end plate 3 in a state where the contact portion 52 is abutted on the end plate 3.
