Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paper for printing, which has high whiteness, white paper glossiness and opacity, and has superior printing quality even though being uncoated paper.SOLUTION: The paper for printing is obtained by the steps of: preparing base paper that contains at least one pulp selected from a group consisting of semichemical pulp and chemiground pulp as raw material pulp, in an amount of 50 pts. mass or more with respect to 100 pts. mass of the total pulp solid content in the base paper, and also contains at least calcium aluminate monocarbonate as a filler; and subjecting the base paper to smoothing treatment by using a calender apparatus.
