SIDE EMISSION LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side emission light-emitting device in which lateral emission is increased by preventing upward leakage of light, and variation in chromaticity is reduced.SOLUTION: The side emission light-emitting device is provided with a reflecting resin 8 entirely on the upper surface of a sealing resin 7 for sealing a light-emitting element 4. The reflecting resin 8 forms a conical body having a vertex 8a projecting toward the light-emitting element 4. Consequently, the thickest part in the reflecting resin 8, from the vertex to the bottom of the conical body, is located directly above the light-emitting element 4. As a result, the light traveling directly above the light-emitting element 4 is blocked by the reflecting resin 8 having a thickness sufficient for shading.
