Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start controlling device of a compression self-ignition type engine capable of completely stopping the engine in an early stage in a process of automatically stopping the engine even if a flywheel is mounted on a crank shaft of the engine.SOLUTION: An ECU 50 includes: stopping fuel injection from a fuel injection valve 15 at a time point when a predetermined delay time has elapsed since a time point when an automatic stop condition is established, in a process of automatically stopping the engine with a flywheel on a crank shaft; decreasing an aperture of an intake throttle valve 30 provided in an intake passage 28 to be smaller than an aperture before the automatic stop condition is established at a time point when a predetermined waiting time has elapsed since the time point when the fuel injection stops; and resuming the fuel injection from the fuel injection valve 15 if a request of re-start is made before the waiting time elapses and an engine speed is at a speed capable of re-starting.
