Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial fiber structure having durability and superior antimicrobial properties even though being made of a cellulose-based fiber, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The antimicrobial fiber structure is obtained by treating a fiber structure containing a cellulose-based fiber with an organic acid. As the organic acid, at least one acid selected from the group consisting of malic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, succinic acid, lactic acid, malonic acid, aconitic acid, glutaric acid, adipic acid, acetic acid, formic acid and oxalic acid can be used.
