PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially reduce time required before starting playback by rapidly decrypting encrypted multimedia files.SOLUTION: The program for decrypting a sample-encrypted multimedia file containing at least either video data or audio data allows a computer to execute a series of processes comprising; receiving specifications for a read start position and a read size of a sample; acquiring a head position of the sample which includes the read start position and a sample size; reading a sample corresponding to the sample size from the acquired head position; decrypting the sample that has been read in accordance with a decryption key; and applying padding on the decrypted sample such that the sample size of the decrypted sample matches that of the encrypted sample.
