The converged ultrasonic beam is caused to move in a first array direction substantially perpendicular to the first focal line, while crossing a defect. The dimensions of the defect are determined from one reflection or more of the converged ultrasonic beam from the defect when causing the converged ultrasonic beam to move while crossing the defect. |
