Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating an engine during the shut-down of a gas turbine engine.SOLUTION: The method for reducing a lockout time of the gas turbine engine includes: a step of operating the engine at a first power output level; and a step shutting down operation of the engine without substantially reducing the power outputted beforehand where thermomechanical changes occur in the engine subsequent to shutdown a tend to reduce a radial clearance between at least one of the blades and a casing. Moreover, the method includes a step of (1) heating the casing and/or (2) pumping an airflow of ambient air into an inlet and flowing the pumped air into the casing to pass a rotor and then discharging the air from an exhaust duct so as to reduce at least partially the thermomechanical changes. |
