IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, DEVICE AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method to detect a target object with high accuracy in images of various quality (with high variation in brightness, unclear edge, much noise, etc.).SOLUTION: For one image in which a target object is to be detected, predefined n-pieces of thresholds are set in order and binarization processing is performed n-times, in order to determine whether feature quantities of connected pixel areas in respective binarized images satisfy prescribed conditions. As a result, in the respective binarized images, pixel values of the areas which does not satisfy prescribed conditions are cleared to zero and then they are merged to generate the result images.
