PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus being capable of suppressing the occurrence of image deletion while maintaining a wear resistance even when it is repeatedly used.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus 100, which comprises: an electrophotographic photoreceptor 7 having a surface protection layer containing fluorine-based resin particles and a fluorinated alkyl group containing copolymer; developing means 11 which stores a developer containing toner particles and zinc stearate and develops an electrostatic image formed on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor to form a toner image; and cleaning means 13 for removing the developer remaining on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, wherein when the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor is analyzed by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) after rotating the electrophotographic photoreceptor 50000 times by repeatedly forming an image having the image part and the non-image part and an image density of 7%, the zinc coverage satisfies the following expression (1). 50%≤zinc coverage≤100% (1)
