PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with a conventional engine control device, wherein the device stops an engine by allowing every idling stop to be executable even during little stop time if vehicle stop conditions that a brake operation is performed and a vehicle speed is equal to or less than a constant, and to provide an engine control device capable of performing idling stop control while preventing engine stop and re-startup from being frequently repeated in a short time.SOLUTION: An engine control device includes a third condition determination means determining whether a third condition of a start prediction state in which quick vehicle re-starting is estimated after a first condition of brake operation and a second condition that a vehicle speed is zero are established. Even when the first condition and second condition are established, if the third condition is established, the engine is not stopped. Accordingly, an occupant is prevented from feeling troublesome due to the frequent engine stop and re-startup in a short time.
