Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform a flapping motion and a feathering motion of a large number of desired modes while a device constitution is made small in size and light in weight.SOLUTION: A flapping robot 10 is provided with a wing member 11 cantilevered to perform a predetermined flapping operation, a wing motion mechanism 12 for operating the wing member 11 and a control device 14 for controlling the operation of the wing member 11 by an operation of the wing motion mechanism 12. The wing motion mechanism 12 is provided with a forward power transmission means 20 for transmitting power in the vertical direction to the front part of the base end side of the wing member 11, and a rearward power transmission means 21 for transmitting power in the vertical direction to the back of the base end side of the wing member 11. Each of the power transmissions performed by the forward power transmission means 20 and the rearward power transmission means 21 can be independently controlled so that the flapping motion for moving the wing member 11 in a vertical direction and the feathering motion for inclining the wing member 11 can be carried out.
