Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate that can reduce luminance unevenness generated around a light-incident part with light incident, a plane light source device, a transmission type image display device, a design method of light distribution pattern for a light guide plate, and a method for manufacturing of the light guide plate.SOLUTION: The light guide plate containing a light guide plate base material propagating light, includes a plurality of light reflecting dots 12 formed at least on one side of the light guide plate base material. In a plurality of virtual regions A made by equally and virtually dividing a dot-formed surface which is a surface with light reflecting dots formed into a plurality of parts, a plurality of virtual gratings g are arrayed two-dimensionally in a regular manner, the light reflecting dots are formed on predetermined virtual gratings among the plurality of them. An arrangement of the light reflecting dots in one virtual area among the plurality of them has a light distribution pattern in translational symmetry with an arrangement of the light reflecting dots in at least one virtual region from the remaining regions, and the plurality of light reflecting dots are formed on the dot-formed surface.
