Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable positive discharge for suppressing electrode wear while suppressing an increase in size of an ignition coil.SOLUTION: This ignition device includes: the ignition coil 20 including a primary coil L1 and a secondary coil L2; a circuit for capacitive discharge for discharging stored electric power to the primary coil L1 to raise an absolute value of secondary voltage and cause capacitive discharge; and a circuit for inductive discharge for blocking energization to the primary coil L1 to raise an absolute value of the secondary voltage and cause inductive discharge. The positive discharge specifying a center electrode 41 of an ignition plug 40 as a positive electrode is executed by capacitive discharge. An energization state to the primary coil L1 is controlled by an ECU 10 (control means) to switch the positive discharge to negative discharge by the inductive discharge in the middle of the positive discharge. |
