Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a magnet ribbon capable of attaining a uniform fine structure and an excellent magnetic characteristic provided thereby, by preventing temperature fluctuation on the surface of a cooling roller in a case when a ribbon of magnet alloy is manufactured by rapid solidification.SOLUTION: When manufacturing a magnet ribbon by rapid solidification by discharging a molten metal of magnet alloy onto the surface of a cooling roller, the cooling roller is continuously reciprocated vertically in the generation direction of the magnet ribbon. It is preferred that a shielding plate is used for shielding the surface of the roller against an induction coil for heating just before discharging the molten metal.
