Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester having an adjusting mechanism for the number of ridges for pulling out and having a pulling and conveying mechanism of a compact configuration.SOLUTION: A pulling and conveying device 24 for holding and harvesting crops is provided. A ridge number adjusting frame 151 for varying the number of ridges for pulling out of the pulling and conveying device 24 is provided with a ridge number adjusting member 153. A first biasing member 154 for biasing a pulling endless belt 18 when crops in one ridge are pulled out is provided on a side closer to a starting end than to the ridge number adjusting member 153. A second biasing member 155 for biasing the pulling endless belt 18 when crops in a plurality of ridges are pulled out is provided behind the ridge number adjusting member 153. When the pulling endless band 18 is pushed by the first biasing member 154, a one-ridge pulling configuration in which crops are held by the starting end portion of the pulling and conveying device 24 is formed. When the pulling endless belt 18 is pushed by the ridge number adjusting member 153 and the second biasing member 155, the starting end side of the pulling endless belt 18 is separated and a multiple-ridge pulling configuration in which crops in a plurality of ridges are held at a position where the ridge number adjusting member 153 presses the pulling endless belt 18 is formed.
