TRANSFER DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device and an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a satisfactory image by preventing color shift by preventing skew of a belt-like carrier at the end of which a bias regulating member is disposed.SOLUTION: There is provided a transfer device 10 for primarily transferring toner images formed on image carriers 1K, 1M, 1C and 1Y on a belt-like carrier 7 wound around a plurality of roller members 12 to 16 and then secondarily transferring the toner images on a recording medium P, which comprises a bias regulating member 30 which is disposed at at least one end 7b of an inner surface 7a of the belt-like carrier and abuts on end surfaces 12a to 16a of each roller member, wherein the position of the bias regulating member 30 in the width direction W of the belt-like carrier is placed opposite to the roller member 12 and the bias regulating member 30 is disposed outside the width direction at a constant distance A or longer from an end 21a of a contact member 21 which can contact with and separate from a surface 7c of the belt-like carrier.
