PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device allowing a user to intuitively and easily perform an operation of performing the enlargement/reduction display of a desired area.SOLUTION: A selected area display unit displays an area selection window 32 for identifying and displaying at least part of a selected area 34 of a displayed image. An image acquiring unit acquires an image corresponding to the selected area 34. An enlarging/reducing processing unit generates an enlarged or reduced image formed by enlarging or reducing the image acquired by the image acquiring unit, in accordance with the enlarged/reduced display area 35. The enlarged/reduced display unit displays the enlarged/reduced image generated by enlarging/reducing processing unit, on the enlarged/reduced display area 35. A user can adjust the location of the selection area 34, the size of the selected area 34, the size of the enlarged/reduced display area 35, and the like by a drag operation with a mouse.
