Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softener for sanitary paper, which can impart excellent softness, smoothness and moist feeling to paper in a balanced manner, and further suppress deterioration of paper strength.SOLUTION: The softener for sanitary paper comprises 1-50 mass% of an alkylene oxide derivative represented by formula (1) and 50-99 mass% of glycerin. RO(EO)m (PO)n H...(1) (where R is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1-4 carbon atoms. EO represents an oxyethylene group and PO represents an oxypropylene group. m is the number of average addition moles of oxyethylene group of 40-300, n is the number of average addition moles of oxypropylene group of 20-150 and m/n=30/70 to 95/5. EO and PO are random addition.)
