SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which comes with a flat-shaped wound electrode body, so that even when an anode core body exposed part in a region on the outermost periphery of an anode plate is significantly bent, the floating or peeling off on the core body exposed part end side of an anode active material mixture layer will not easily occur.SOLUTION: A secondary battery of the present invention includes a flat-shaped wound electrode body 14 having formed respectively therein a cathode core body exposed part 15 wound around an end part on one side and an anode core body exposed part 16 wound around an end part on the other side. An end part of an anode active material mixture layer 12a on the anode core body exposed part 16 side of an anode plate 12 protrudes from a cathode active material mixture layer 11a on an adjacent cathode plate 11. The anode core body exposed part 16 is converged to a center side in the thickness direction of the flat-shaped wound electrode body 14. On the outermost periphery of the flat-shaped wound electrode body 14 is located a separator 13, where the separator 13 located at the outermost periphery and the adjacent anode core body exposed part 16 of the anode plate 12 are fixed integrally by using a fixing member 35.
