PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sound by controlling any influence given by the resonance of a soundboard on sound quality in the case of mounting an excitation part for exciting the soundboard.SOLUTION: A grand piano is configured such that performance information is output from a performance output part 120 to a signal output part 15 in accordance with the operation of a key 2 in a muting mode, and that a driving signal showing a sound based on the performance information is output from the signal output part 15 to a plurality of excitation parts 50H and 50L installed in a soundboard. The frequency characteristics of the driving signal to be input to each of the plurality of excitation parts 50H and 50L is adjusted by an equalizer part 152 so that the resonance of the soundboard in excitation can be suppressed in accordance with the vibration characteristics of the soundboard at the connection position of a vibration part installed in each excitation part to the soundboard.
