PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel branched heteropolyfunctional polyoxyalkylene compound high in stability and homogeneity for modification of bio-related substances.SOLUTION: The branched heteropolyfunctional polyoxyalkylene compound is represented by formula (1), wherein: Z is a dehydroxylated residue of pentaerythritol or dipentaerythritol; OAand OAare a 2-4C oxyalkyelene group; L, Land Lare an alkylene group or an alkylene group containing an ester bond, a urethane bond, an amido bond, an ether bond, a carbonate bond, a secondary amino group or a urea bond; X and Y are chemically reactive functional groups, which are different from each other; m is 5 to 1,000; n is 0 to 1,000; p, q and r are 0 or 1; sis an integer of ≥2; and s+s=4 or 6.
