Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railroad vehicle that improves the high-speed running stability of a straight line though the front and rear rigidity of an axle box support device is lowered.SOLUTION: The railroad vehicle has a brake controller 1 that controls the air supply and exhaust of compressed air to right and left tread brake units 20 and each brake cylinder 21. The brake cylinder 21 makes a sustained load F act on an axle box 6 that rotates and supports a wheel set 7 from the rear side of a vehicle body. The brake controller 1 supplies the compressed air to the brake cylinder 21 to support the axle box 6 from backward by the sustained load F within the elastic deformation for an elastic member to which elastic force acts on a vehicle body back and forth between the wheel set 7 and truck frames 2 and 3 during straight traveling, and exhausts the compressed air from the brake cylinder 21 to make the axle box 6 freely move according to elastic deformation of the elastic member during curve traveling.
