BRITTLE MATERIAL PLATE BREAKING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-speed continuous cutting of a brittle material plate and to enhance cutting work efficiency.SOLUTION: A brittle material plate breaking apparatus includes: a feed roller mechanism 3 which feeds a brittle material plate 1 with a cut line made on the front face to a direction perpendicular to the cut line; and a winding-off roller mechanism 4 which winds and feeds the brittle material plate 1 fed from the feed roller mechanism 3 and which is disposed with a displacement amount on the rear face side of the brittle material plate 1 with respect to the feed roller mechanism 3, wherein the displacement amount enables the brittle material plate 1 to be broken along the cut line between the mechanism 4 and the feed roller mechanism 3. When the cut line part of the brittle material plate 1 is conveyed between the feed roller mechanism 3 and the winding-off roller mechanism 4, a shear force based on the displacement amount acts on the cut line part, so that the brittle material plate 1 can be broken.
