FORGING PRESS DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forging press device that can inhibit the capacity of a power source to drive a servomotor and a method for controlling the same.SOLUTION: The forging press device includes: a drive shaft ES which moves up and down a slide S; a flywheel 30 connecting to the drive shaft ES; a servomotor 40 connecting to the drive shaft ES; and a capacitor 54 which stores electricity generated by the servomotor 40 to supply the electric power to the servomotor 40. While the drive shaft ES is being rotated by the drive of the flywheel 30 or while the drive shaft ES is being rotated by the inertia power, the electric power is generated by the servomotor 40 and controlled to be stored in the capacitor 54. As the servomotor 40 can be driven by the use of the electricity stored in the capacitor 54, the capacity of a power source 51 for driving the servomotor 40 can be suppressed.
