Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium conveying device which can convey a recording medium without generating wrinkles and floating, and to provide an inkjet recording apparatus.SOLUTION: A paper conveying device for conveying a paper sheet (recording medium) P in a drum manner includes a holding claw 300 for holding a tip of the paper sheet P in a movable manner in a rotating direction of a drum. The holding claw 300 is biased to the downstream side in the rotating direction of the drum by a spring, and locked at an origin position. After holding the paper sheet P, the holding claw 300 is advanced by a biasing force of the spring when the lock is released, and then the paper sheet P is pulled. As a result, tension is applied to the paper sheet P and the deformation of the paper sheet P is straightened.
