PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of improving steering feeling and safety by controlling the amount of current to be supplied to an electric motor in consideration of hysteresis.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device includes: a torque detection part 210 that detects a value corresponding to steering torque of a steering wheel; a torque value correction part 220 that corrects a value detected by the torque detection part 210 in consideration of hysteresis between the actual steering torque and the value detected by the torque detection part; and a target current calculation part 20 that calculates a target current to be supplied to an electric motor 110 on the basis of the detection value corrected by the torque value correction part 220. The torque value correction part 220 corrects the torque by use of a correction amount corresponding to the value detected by the torque detection part 210 so as to reduce the hysteresis when the steering torque is small, or to increase the hysteresis when the steering torque is large.
