Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger using magnetic substances that can suppress increase of pressure loss.SOLUTION: A heat exchanger 1 is constituted by piling up a plurality of magnetic substances 11 molded into a cylindrical form in a direction which intercepts with the longitudinal direction of the magnetic substances 11 to form an assembly 13 of magnetic substances, and by inserting the assembly 13 into a cylindrical metallic case 15. A channel 17 is formed by the sidewall of the magnetic substances 11. A liquid medium flows in the longitudinal direction each of the magnetic substances 11 through the channel 17. At this time, the magnetic substances of the heat exchanger 1 absorb heat or generate heat by applying magnetic field to the heat exchanger 1, thereby realizing heat exchange with a liquid medium. As each of the magnetic substances 11 is in a linear form, the pressure loss can be kept small while the specific surface area can be kept sufficiently large, so that the liquid medium can flow easily to improve heat exchange efficiency. In addition, the deterioration of energy efficiency can be suppressed by damping energy necessary for the flow of liquid medium.
