BILLET SUPPORT ROLL UNIT, APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTINUOUS CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a billet support roll unit capable of preventing deflection of billet support rolls in a drawing direction, extending the service life of the billet support rolls and improving the quality of a billet.SOLUTION: The billet support roll unit includes the billet support rolls 31 contacting with and supporting the billet, and back-up rolls 40 supporting the billet support rolls 31. The back-up roll 40 is divided in three or more in the axial direction of the billet support roll 31, and at least one back-up roll is arranged on the downstream side in the drawing direction of the billet relative to the billet support roll. In the cross section orthogonal to the central axis of the billet support roll, an angle to the perpendicular direction of a line connecting the central axis of the billet support roll and the central axis of the back-up roll, which is arranged on the downstream side in the drawing direction of the billet relative to the billet support roll, is set within a range of 0.23°≤ ≤5°.
