Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve or restore the performance of a system by adjusting a mass analyzer concerning a mass analyzer system including the mass analyzer connected to a gas chromatography.SOLUTION: In a mass analyzer or a gas chromatograph/mass analyzer system, one or more components or areas of a mass analyzer, such as an ion source, are adjusted or cleaned by adding adjustment gas such as hydrogen. The adjustment gas may be added to the upstream of the mass analyzer, a sample inlet, or a chromatograph column, or may be directly added to the mass analyzer. The adjustment gas may be added offline when the mass analyzer is not analyzing a sample or may be added online during sample analysis. When the addition is performed online, the adjustment gas may be mixed with carrier gas such as helium. In another embodiment, the adjustment gas functions as carrier gas passing through the column so that another kind of gas such as helium may be added to a carrier gas flow.
