Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharge apparatus that prevents a part thereof from getting dirty by an inadvertent dropping of ink reserved in a predetermined location due to the corrosion of the liquid droplet discharge surface when employing a recording head unit in which a liquid droplet discharge surface is arranged in a direction opposite to the direction of gravitational force, such as in an upward direction, and has a configuration for simple procedures by decreasing the frequency of replacement of the corroded liquid reservoir.SOLUTION: For a configuration in which a nozzle surface 105 of a recording head 7 mounted on a carriage 3 is arranged in an upward direction opposite to the direction of gravitational force, a reservoir part 101 having an opening on a surface flush with the nozzle surface 105, and a space with a depth along the direction of gravitational force includes a suction member 300 that is operable simultaneously with a capping member 160 that hermetically seals the nozzle surface 105, and sucks up liquid droplets entered and reserved therein and discharges the sucked liquid droplet into a waste liquid tank 220. |
