Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method of hybrid vehicle, which can control fuel consumption in a case when a hybrid vehicle is traveled by power of at least either an electric motor or an internal combustion engine, and improving fuel consumption.SOLUTION: The control device of hybrid vehicle, which controls the motion of the internal combustion engine and the electric motor, includes ECU. The ECU calculates an engine fuel consumption amount and an EV fuel consumption amount when each of engine travel mode and EV travel mode is executed while executing the EV travel mode according to requested torque and vehicle speed (step 41), and selects the engine travel mode when the engine fuel consumption amount is smaller than the EV fuel consumption amount or selects and executes the EV travel mode when the EV fuel consumption amount is smaller than the engine fuel consumption amount (steps 42 and 43).
