Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a steel strip or a steel sheet which permits omission of a slit process, improvement of an yield in the course from a start material to products, improvement of an yield in the course from a thin steel strip sheet to products, manufacturability by small-scale equipment, and availability for manufacturing products ranging from high-mix low-volume products to large-lot specified products, in a method which, in order to manufacture a comparatively thin and narrow steel strip or steel sheet, has been conventionally worked out through the process of rolling an ordinary hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel sheet to a prescribed thickness, and then slitting and further rolling, or slitting in advance and then rolling to a prescribed thickness.SOLUTION: The method is either a method in which a steel wire rod, or a steel wire or a steel bar composed of commercially-supplied carbon steel or ferritic stainless steel, or austenitic stainless steel is used as a start material and it is rolled to a final thickness with flat rollers in a cold temperature region, or a method in which after first the material is rolled with caliber rollers in the cold temperature region, it is rolled to the final thickness with the flat rollers in the cold temperature region, or after first it is rolled with the caliber rollers in a warm temperature region, rolled to the final thickness with the flat rollers in the cold temperature region, and a large strain is introduced from a step of the start material to a prescribed step of an intermediate material and a final material.
