PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently input characters according to various situations.SOLUTION: When a user inputs a character string, a communication terminal displays the inputted character string in an inputted character string display area A1, and displays a converted character string corresponding to the character string in a conversion candidate display area A2 as a conversion candidate. The converted character string also has an attribute related to a position allocated thereto. For instance, the attributes of "urban area" for "conference" and "coast area" for "coast" are allocated. When displaying the conversion candidate, the communication terminal acquires position information indicating the position of the own machine, and specifies the attribute of the position of the own machine on the basis of the position information. Then, when there is the converted character string having the attribute that is identical with the attribute of the position of the own machine, the communication terminal displays the character string superior to the other character strings. For instance, when the user inputs characters near the sea, the character strings such as "coast" and "sea bathing" are displayed above as illustrated in the figure.
