Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a simple structure which enables manufacturing cost to be reduced and capable of effectively reducing leakage of images.SOLUTION: The inventive display device has: an image element 10 in which each of sub-pixels repeatedly arranged in a first direction is alternately allotted so as to present an image a or an image b; and an optical element 11 making light from the sub-pixels to emit diagonally. The optical element 11 includes a color material membrane 4, a color material membrane 5, and a color material membrane 6. Among the color material membrane 4, the color material membrane 5, and the color material membrane 6, each of the color material membranes absorbing any of light emitted from the sub-pixels of a set of pixels has an opening at a corresponding position between the sub-pixels of the set of pixels, and two openings present at the same position are mutually shifted to the side on which light absorbed by the color material membrane having the opening is emitted via the openings and overlapped with each other.
