Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device that secures a desired amount of electric power while minimizing the amount of heat generated at a second engagement device, and achieves a desirable traveling condition according to the situation.SOLUTION: The control device controls a vehicle drive device including, in a power transmission path connecting between an internal combustion engine and wheels, a first engagement device, a rotating electric machine, a second engagement device, and an output member, which are provided in this order starting from the internal combustion engine side. The control device performs mode shift control for shifting mode from a first control mode for causing the rotating electric machine to generate power while both the first and second engagement devices are in a slip engagement state, to a second control mode for causing the rotating electric machine to generate power while the first engagement device is in a direct-coupling engagement state and the second engagement device is in the slip engagement state.
