NAVIGATION DEVICE, ROUTE GUIDANCE METHOD, ROUTE GUIDANCE PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device and a route guidance method which can perform appropriate route guidance in both states where the navigation device is mounted on a moving body and where the navigation device is not mounted on the moving body.SOLUTION: A navigation device is structured to be attachable/detachable to/from a moving body such as a vehicle. The device can perform route guidance when it is mounted on the vehicle, and also when it is detached from the vehicle, a user can carry it on walking and use it as a navigation device. Use state detection means detects whether the navigation device is in a mounted state indicating the state to be attached to the moving body or a non-mounted state indicating the state to be detached from the moving body. Then, the navigation device executes the route guidance in a different mode depending on the mounted state or the non-mounted state. Thus, it is possible to perform appropriate the route guidance according to difference of a situation whether the user is traveling by a vehicle or walking, for example.
